Lord Byron's Newstead Abbey at Christmas - Light & Line Photography Course
Event Dates
About this Event
Lord Byron's Newstead Abbey at Christmas Light & Line Photography Course Friday 15th December 2017
Lord Byron’s ancestral home, Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire is the setting for an exclusive pre-Christmas treat and is a ‘must’ for anyone interested in historic houses. We have been granted permission to take our tripods and lights inside- which is an almost UNIQUE opportunity for a property of this nature and we have exclusive access for the day.
This literary legend’s home is a former 12th century Augustinian priory which became the seat of the Byron family in 1540. The house retains its mediaeval character with cloisters and abbey west front, whilst its interiors have a mixture of ancient and victorian sympathies. Designers work with the curatorial team to create a series of beautiful period Christmas displays throughout the rooms, so that your photographs will ooze style!
What Your Day Includes
A photographic walking tour of the interiors with staff on hand to answer questions about the house.
Hands-on tuition, with advice on tackling long exposures, contrast and lighting for interiors.
Beautiful Victorian-style Christmas tableaus throughout the house for evocative image making
Access to areas not normally visited where we may create previously ‘unseen’ images.
Exclusive access – the house is closed to the public on our day.
Owing to the unique nature of this course, we find that this is one of our most popular itineraries, so book early!
