Christmas at Newstead Abbey
Event Dates
About this Event
Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday 25 November – Saturday 23 December 2017
Step back in time and enjoy a traditional Victorian Christmas at the Abbey.
Wander through the house and gardens of Lord Byron's ancestral home, which will sparkle with over 25 beautifully decorated trees and festive room sets.
Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in December. Park opens at 10am; house open 12–4pm (last entry 3.30pm); café and shop open 10am–3.30pm.
On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, have a go at decorating one of the trees and visit the busy Victorian kitchen as they prepare for a festive feast. Browse beautiful handmade decorations and gifts on 2, 3, 9 and 10 December at the craft fair in the cloisters. Meet the ghosts of Christmases past with a special tour on Friday 15 December. And, on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December, listen to Christmas carols while enjoying mulled wine and mince pies.
While you’re here, treat a loved one to a festive afternoon tea in the spectacular West Front Suite, browse the Christmas shop for the perfect present and make your day even more memorable with a visit to Santa’s grotto in the courtyard.
